Azhikode and Achuthanandan

Every time when Sukumar Azhikode flays Achuthanandan he consciously adds:
“I say this as I am impartial. I am not part of any group”. Nevertheless people of Kerala do not think that Azhikode is correct because the 16-4 drubbing for the CPM-led Left Democratic Front in the election is an indication in this direction.

Since Achuthanandan is other wise busy with his Government and party affairs, Azhikode found it as a golden opportunity to abuse the latter. When the chief minister laughed his heart out at his interaction with media persons, at the time of debacle of his party in the election, Azhikode came heavily on him just for media publicity. He even dared to qualify the CM's laughter to that of a traitor. He modified it in his Kottayam speech that CM’s laughter is the outcome of immorality and not of treachery. Still then Achuthanandan kept deafening silence. Next attempt from Azhikode will be differentiating between moral and immoral and after that he will say he is impartial.

Azhikode’s ‘impartiality’ urges him to think Abdul Nasser Madany has no terror link and Pinarayi is clean in the SNC Lavelin deal. But Azhikode’s impartiality does not permit him to ask Pinarayi to appear before the court to prove his innocence.
People of Kerala think that Azhikode will soon take a U-turn in the immediate future when CBI files the Rs 374-crore SNC Lavalin case in a court of justice. He will make a roll over with a correction in his earlier speech as he did many times in the past.

Kerala CPM mess

The best friend could become the worst foe. And that is what happened in the case of V S Achuthanandan and Pinarayi Vijayan. Achuthanandan and Vijayan have had a strained relationship for long, but not so long. When there was revolt between Nayanar and Achuthanandan, Pinarayi was the lieutenant of the latter. However, when Pinarayi got an upper hand in the party with Kannur muscle men, Achuthanandan distanced Pinarayi.

Achuthanandan’s advantage is that he has led many campaigns on behalf of people. As Leader of the Opposition in the previous assembly, he had linked himself with fighting for the tribal right to land in the Wayanad hills, headed the campaign against converting agricultural land into housing plots, fought against atrocities on women and opposed the transfer of land for setting up techno-parks. He was against his own party’s ‘Vismaya fantsy park’. Vijayan’s specialty was his Lavalin deal, Faris- Santago Martin-Lis-Madani friend ship and the people viewed it subspecialty. .

The people of Kerala support Achuthanandan. The recent verdict in the Parliament election is not against Achuthanandan. It is against Pinarayi and his associates. The party general secretary Karat, if he does not lose chair after PB forethought on election debacle, will have to vie with these facts before taking any decision to solve Kerala CPM mess.

Wise decision by CPM to shut the mouth of Sudhakaran

Kerala Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran’s outbursts have crossed all the limits of human receptivity. It is only lunatics speak like this. After a humiliating defeat for his party in the Lok Sabha election, instead of admitting the fact, he ridicules the people of the state with his malicious words. He places an arithmetic of 416 votes in his polling booth in Alappuzha to justify his stance when തെരെare about 11 lakh votes on an average in a parliament constituency.

What has happened in the Secretariat before the office of Sudhakaran is a black mark in the entire history of Kerala. It is not the Secretariat staff association, but the irresponsible minister to be blamed for the whole wicked commotion inside the secretariat.
G Sudhakaran once called government secretaries as dogs. He is notorious for his filthy tongue and his search for ‘under wears’ of Govt Secretaries and temple priests is infamous. But the people because of their civility, kept deaf ear to minister’s crazy eruptions. It is only Bharat Bhushan, a secretary to the Govt, took a strong stance against the minister and abandoned his office. He now occupies a high position at the Centre where Sudhakaran is not permitted to enter in its premise. Since Sudhakaran is ashamed of repeating the word ‘under wear’ he went one step forward and said about ‘display of other thing’. What is does he mean by ‘other thing’?: Is it the thing inside the under wear, similar to the Hindi cine song “Choli ke peeche kya he’? Undeniably this would exacerbate any sensible person.

Chief Minister Achuthanandan once asked the public to ignore the words of this mad minister. But when his wickedness grows out of any limit there is no way out other than to react. The Secreatariate staff association has done it rightly.

The CPM decision to make him tight-lipped hereafter is a move in the right direction.

Isaac’s award lured Azhikode !

Though not accepted openly by Azhikode, the offer of the award as brand ambassador for corruption-free campaign by Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac has been rewarded. The self proclaimed social activist Sukumar Azhikode came heavily on Chief Minister Achuthanandan saying that the latter is a traitor. Sukumar Azhikode told media persons that Achuthanandan should not have laughed and reacted in the manner he did on hearing the Kerala election results.

Of late Azhikode is not sold well in the State for his partisan attitude. Smelling this Azhikode decided to take the same path followed by Pinrayi’s whistle bowlers like M Mukundan and K E N Kunjahemed. And that is why Azhikode was preaching about collective responsibility of every Keralite and other things. Where was this critic when E P Jayarajan collected crores from Santiago Martin? What happened to this activist when CBI charge-sheeted Pinarayi in the SNC Lavelin? Why did he keep mum when G Sudhakaran abused all the noble people in the state with his nasty tongue?

Once, Azhikode appreciated Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan's stern stance on the Munnar eviction drive. Then he said “The Chief Minister had not gone to the U.S. for lessons on public management. It was his long years of `honest public service' that made Achuthanandan a popular man among the public”. Now what provoked Azhikode to take different stand? Is it Thomas Isaac’s award lured Azhikode to doubt about Achuthanadan’s honesty?

Veliyam’s unfounded remarks

Kerala CPI Secretary Veliyam Bharghavan started once again abusing K R Gowri Amma with utter non-sense. This time Veliyam said he was all the time in the Hospital with T V Thomas while latter’s wife Gowri Amma was not with him. Veliyam also stated that the Communist party of India had then put no hardship to Gowri Amma and her marital life with Thomas. This is in contrast to Gowri Amma’s stance about party and her personal life. What prompted Veliyam to make such an unfounded remark needs to be checked out. Does Veliyam need to hear again from Gouri Amma’s mouth that he was cornering a rich man’s daughter while she and her husband are trying hard to build up Communist Party in the State? It seems that hearing past story from somebody’s mouth is an interesting subject at old age for Veliyam

Azhikode -“Ambassador of honesty”

Of late Dr Sukumar Azhikode is not receiving much media attention because of his obvious proximity to the official faction of the CPI(M) in Kerala. Sensing this Azhikode came heavily on both Pinarayi and Achuthanandan and asked them to stop their mutual mudslinging.
People love Azhikode because of his fearless talk and neutrality. But for quite long there was a marked deviation from his earlier neutral stance and in the feud between Pinarayi and Achuthanandan, Azhikode’s situate was in favour of Pinarayi. Though annoyed by his earlier statement, Achuthanandan kept a determined silence on Azhikode as it is the time for him to recognize his friends and foes. Even Gurudasan betraying him is a not a serious matter when Achuthanandan pursues his soul search.

If Azhikode is happy in commenting about the tarnished images of Pinarayi and Achuthanandan it is good. But it should not be a crafty act to win the applause of Oommen Chandy and Chennithala.. Azhikode’s act should be aimed against those politicians who have donned with wrong doings. Azhikode not accepting the Isaacean award “Ambassador of honesty” is praiseworthy.
