Fake guru writing first letter

It is quite wonderful to see that along with many good and learned men there were a few cheeky politicians too to take thousands of tiny tots into the world of letters. To where these fake gurus take these children is far from one’s imagination. For instance, Kerala Co-operation Minister G Sudhakaran, who is notorious for ‘wicked saraswathi’ on his tongue, was also a guru for the big business of writing first letter on the tongues of children. Had any one a little time, then just imagine the fate of these children.

Even police are not safe in Kerala.

The India Today’s ‘best law order state’ award to Kerala Home Affairs Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan seems ridiculous for one who watches the present law and order situation in the State. The gods’ own country has really turned goondas’ on land. The peace loving people of the state are left with no option other than to remain in their home. Any complaint to police would turn adversely to the complainant as the police are in collusion with goondas of ruling politicians. Nevertheless, the police get some lessons occasionally. For instance, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of police and a constable came under attack near Thrssiur while a Sub-Inspector suffered injuries in an attack in Ernakulam district recently

It was ASI Hamzah of the Anthikkad police station who was attacked by a criminal gang engaged in “goonda collection” with a bucket at Thrissur. One constable Manoj was also injured in the attack. The bucket collection of money in thoroughfare is the notorious way of collecting and spending unaccounted money by major political outfits in the state.
Police become alert only when they are attacked. And that is why the Viyyur police sprang to action immediately and took into custody three of the goondas. Would the police expose the political affiliation of these goondas if they belong to Kodiyeri’s party?
Open harassment of people who refuse to pay money, by gangs sponsored by political parties are a common scene in Kerala. If money put in bucket is only Rs 10, the party leader shows the audacity to return the money in open and threaten the person about future consequence.

All disgrace incidents are seemingly matter of reputation for the Kerala Home Department. And that is why Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had different opinions on the law and order situation in the State.
The law and order situation in Kerala is so dreadful that criminals are resorting to murdering innocents to settle their scores with the police. ‘No reason killing’ of a aged man in Varkala is an example. The Home Ministry of Kerala have nothing to cheer other than by accepting awards issued by independent agencies with vested interest.

Present CPM could not attract more people.

The CPM now recognizes the need to build up the party image in India especially in W Bnegal and Kerala. The present mid-level leaders are in the grip of lavish life as they get sufficient money from various sources like Sand –Lottery –Quotation-Realty mafias- is the findings of party’s top level leaders. Marxist ideology is a past story for many despite the warning from idyllic leaders like V S Achuthanandan. Achuthanandan, according to neo-liberalists is a ‘class enemy’ destined to sit in corner and that is why he was sent out of parties highest decision making body viz., the Politburo. This is regrettable. CPM has failed to identify what the actual difficulty with the party is. And that is why party has asked its leaders to change their way of life, which seems rather impossible for many.

Nevertheless, the new CPM proposal that functionaries should declare assets to the party at a time is a welcome step. And If it is not done urgently, the kith and kin of many party leaders should become millionaires with in a fortnight. It is customary on the part of one to transfer his wealth to immediate relatives before declaring assets. We have finest example like leader K Karunakaran, of course from Congress party, who declared once that his only asset as a gold ring connoting that all his work as politician and CM of the state earned him little. Undoubtedly, one who closely watches the life style many comrades could see not only top level leaders but the local level also posses huge wealth and that is what alienated voters in Kerala and W Bengal from the party .

Further, declaring assets is not a big business. It is only a tricky way to legitimize the black money amassed by hook or crook. It is a fact that comrades are being influenced by “bourgeois” tendencies and “lifestyle deviations”. The proposal for asset declaration is only a treatment over skin and it would bring no substantial improvement for the party to attract the common people.

Could the party identify and avoid those functionaries who had played lead role with sand-lottery-sex-money-land and quotation mafia? If yes, then the party can attract common people. And for that the present leadership should go.
