School based sex education in Kerala

The Education Department of Kerala has drawn lines to teach adolescent children about the basics of sex in school curriculum. They would have collected teaching notes from celebrities like Thilakan, the thespian turned public orator, convincing people, the technique of having half a dozen children from two women even without any wedlock.

Did the Department ever note the revealing of researchers that school based sex education classes have had little effect on reported sexual behaviour among African adolescents. Researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and the Tanzanian National Institute for Medical Researches Mwanza Research Centre (NIMR Mwanza) exposed that there was no significant impact on pregnancies or sexually transmitted infections due to school based sex education.

The findings are published in the PLoS Medicine.

Mobile impact

The arrest of the two escapees within three days after the Kannur jailbreak is a major confidence booster for the police in Kannur. Thanks to mobile phone industry without which the police could not have achieved this bravura result. Mobile phone is not only a gadget for crime, but it can be advantageously used for tracking criminals. Think twice before totally banning cell phones from campuses as campuses are now become havens of borne criminals.

I feel pity for the two prison jumpers. They need right away whole body massage with all Ayurvedic oils. The lesson to criminals now in jail who have future plans to jump out is: get a thorough coaching from those criminals who are not yet caught in police net. Cell phone tuition from Chacko murder fame Sukumara Kurup can be considered in that case. And the lesson to the valentine criminals is: never trust a woman.

Media created fever?

After party secretary, it is now the turn of Health Minister of Kerala P K Sreemathy to bash the media. The media is trying to create confusion by saying that viral fever is haunting the state, according to her. Does this apply to her party’s own media Kairali, People and Desabhimani? When thousands of fever-stricken patients run from pillar to post it is cruel to say there is no fever in the state. What Sreemathy has to do is to streamline the functions of her department. Ask the doctors in Govt hospitals not to direct people to take treatment in private hospitals.
