'Poda pulle CBI'

The Gulf returned Pinarayi Vijayan is in jubilant mood and claims that he had been given a clean chit by the CBI in the Lavalin case. He said the CBI had at present “unambiguously’’ stated that he had not received a single pie from the SNC-Lavalin deal. Then, Mr Pinarayi, why do you be anxious about CBI? Couldn’t you seek the help your fellow comrade E P Jayarajan who said once “poda pulle CBI”(go away stupid CBI).

The people of Kerala are ready to accept you if your own Chief Minister develops a frame of mind to exonerate you.

IG and AG

CAT’s order to reinstate suspended IG Tomin J Thachankary is not the end of the tunnel. The DGP’s report on the controversial foreign trip made by Thachankary shows the argument made by him does not stand. How can one justify his mistake by explicating the fault of others? Reports pour in the sense that the CM of the State is a lesser person than an IG and the IG could Act as he wish. The dubious stance taken by the AG of Kerala is seemingly a part of the rift between the two factions of Marxist party. What is the use of AG of the sort who never pleads for his client?

The decision of the Chief Minister that government will continue with the legal steps against the order of CAT is in the right direction. Thachankary’s case must be dealt seriously.

The lone criminal

The Kerala Cooperation Minister G Sudhakaran says there is one criminal in every home in Kerala. And that may be father, mother, son or daughter. Of course in Sudhakaran’s home, his wife Navaprabha is learned professor and hence not a criminal. His son, married of late, is not involved in any serious crime. In that case, it is anybody’s guess to make out the lone criminal in Sudhakaran’s house.

“Caesar's wife must be above suspicion”-Tharoor too.

“Caesar's wife must be above suspicion” is a famous proverb. The meaning is:
the associates of public figures must not even be suspected of wrongdoing. Is it not applicable to Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, the associate of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh? Some people arguing in favour of Tharoor says:“the Minister has the freedom to keep his personal secrets”. This argument is undesirable.

Who is this Sunanda Pushkar? She has 18 percent stake in the Rendezvous consortium, new sponsor for IPL from Kochi. Tharoor says he has no relation with Pushkar, but media reports say otherwise. Sunanda is going to be his third wife after Thilothama and Christa. Tharoor is in the making of a Krishna (not his cabinet minister)

It is the western culture to have more than one wife. However, the people there never permit their leaders to have more than one wife. If a leader has unholy relation with his secretary or subordinate he has to face the music and that we have seen in the case of American President Bill Clinton. But in India the situation is different. While ordinary people lead a contented life with one wife and one family the leaders have a different set up. Shashi Tharoor is a minister with western culture so he ought to have followed the culture of western leaders but he advantageously adopted the Indian culture. The Prime Ministr Manmohan Singh should ask his minister to follow the western culture of leaders or at least ask him to stop his soul searching with Sunanda Pushkar.

Next time Sudhakaran will perform ‘Ottam Thullal’

Wonderful indeed Kerala Cooperation Minister G Sudhakaran writing and reciting a piece called ‘poem’ at Sahithya Sangamam organised by the Sahithya Pravarthaka Cooperative Society at Thrissur. The recitation is in reply to a poem recited by noted poet Chemmanam Chacko purportedly criticising CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. In his poem, Sudhakaran hit back at Chacko and warned him not to repeat. However, he did not proclaim his old dictate of cutting down the hands of the writer who stands against Pinarayi.

Next time if anyone performs an ‘ottum thullal’ decrying Pinrayi, Sudhakaran will perform an ‘ottum thullal’ for defending Pinrayi who offered him the ministerial berth in the LDF cabinet.

Food Mela at Mannanchery.

The Food Mela at Mannanchery, Alappuzha was a big success with Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac along with local leaders tasting lip-smacking 101 vegetables curries and fifteen varieties of rice items. Food-lovers were rushed to the spot and at what extent their taste buds worked is a question without answer. Really it was an opportunity to taste exquisite cuisines at one place for the villagers.

Nonetheless, the Minister in charge of Alappuzha district G Sudhakaran was not invited to the Mela. It is now a practice in Alappuzha whether it is Bt Brinjal protest, Fish Mela or what else, Sudhakaran is avoided and Minister Thomas Isaac often steals the show. May be Sudhakaran is less intelligent than Isaac to devise innovative schemes such as Food Mela to attract the local public. It is all good for Isaac at Mararikulam now if the constituency is not reserved for women in the coming election. Local leaders like R Nasser, the Alappuzha District Panchayat President, are always behind Isaac ignoring Sudhakaran.

Food Mela also witnessed some vicious scenes. Elderly people often get annoyed when food is supplied by persons wearing folded dhoti. Nasser was one of the food suppliers of the Mela but presented himself with folded ‘mundu’ above his knees with a piece of tobacco under his tongue. The women eaters got annoyed but did not register their protest because he is the District Pancahayat President and role model of all the eaters present. Though Isaac was also wearing mundu it was not seen outside because of his floor-sweeping kurtha.

Bravo Unnithan

I think the only brave man in the State unit of Indian National Congres is Rajmohan Unnithan. Days after his party withdrawn his suspension he lashed out at the ruling CPM for 'spreading canards' about him on his alleged involvement with a woman and termed the Left leaders as a bunch of 'pseudo moralists'. Unnithan is firm that he was trapped by the ruling Left party activists and their allies. He asked his adversaries not forget the personal side of leaders like Karl Marx, Lenin and Chairman Mao and it is no different with some CPM leaders here. He is about to expose the nasty scenes associated with some ministers’ residences.

Come on Unnithan, you are courageous. People of Kerala are eagerly waiting to hear you.

Best friend Sania is the worst foe now.

‘Best friend is the worst foe’ when he or she is distanced. And that is what the focal point for the current enmity for Indian youths with Sania Mirza, the tennis icon of India. Even old foxes are in collision course with Sania on hearing the news of her marriage with a Pakistan cricketer. Sania was the heart throb of millions of Indian youths and her ‘tight skirt’ in tennis court is added attraction even for Siva Sena Chief Bal Thackeray. The cricketer from the enemy country robbed her heart by pushing all her lovers in India to utter misery. Harsh words against Sania were originated from this despair.

The legal action from the family of Ayesha Siddiqui who claimed to have married Sania’s new friend Shoaib Malik is the only hope for frantic Indian valentines. However Sania has wisely shifted her marriage to Dubai. The journey to Dubai, the FIR, the divorce case and the subsequent marriage are worth selling for a price to any of the world TV channels.

Govt Beverage

It is interesting to hear that government of Kerala has decided to promote a low alcohol content beverage. So hereinafter all boozers will oscillate with low amplitude at high way side. The padayatra by some outfits against the decision of the government will not yield much result except a small hike in the sale a high alcohol brands. What is the fun in a padayatra without the usual brand? For instance, watch the channel clips of SNDP Yogam meet atKochi. Yogam preaches: “Liquor is poison, do not make it, do not give it, do not drink !”

Out and out a forest minister

Forests fires are as old as the forests themselves. The most common hazard in forests is forests fire. Kerala minister Binoy Viswom is out and out a forest minister. A forest fire like phenomenon broke out at his office too and it seems secretariat is like a forest where there is repeated fire broke outs. Earlier in March there was a fire at Finance Minister’s office but his budget book, all 3G mobile phones brought for MLAs and his exclusive beard, were intact.
