Marxist velakali in Ambalapuzha.

Ambalapuzha is a beautiful small town in Alappuzha district of Kerala state and is famed for its Sri Krishna temple. The place is also famous for its Velakali, a form of group dance held in the open air as an exhibition of the martial feats in front of the Raja of Ambalapuzha (erstwhile Chempakassery). And now Raja has turned in to minister, not one, but two, and the Velalai has been transformed into ‘head rolling feat’. As one rebel of the CPM simulated the “Shornur model” a few heads of the local leaders had rolled down as the result of disciplinary action. Nevertheless, one feels that the apt head to be rolled down is of the minister who always keeps a non-sense mouth wide open.
