Tom Vadakkan is the best.

Tom Vadakkan is facing firm resistance in the Thrissur constituency from the Oppostion. His own party men in collusion with DYFI muggers have burnt him in effigy. And hence Vadakkan is the apt candidate in Thrissur to place a good fight. There is nothing wrong for Christian clergies to support Vadakkan when all other communal outfits have their say on candidates. The Yogam secretary Vellappalli Natesan has already started marking plus and minus to candidates from both the Fronts. Madani of the PDP, a hard-core fundamentalist, has got an upper hand over CPI in the LDF. If Christians allow LDF men to win in all constituencies then more CDs, depicting the man with holes in the palms playing the lead role in “Type Writer”like episode, will be played before school children. The Marxist whistle blower Dr Sukumar Azhikkode has ridiculed Vadakkan for reasons unfounded. Wisdom at old age takes a twisted route at least in the case of Azhikkode. Vadakkan could take a sigh of relief as he would get the support from Vellappally, Azhikkode’s bete noire.

Marxist bunkum

The CPI (M) boasts of being secular, yet along with the Revolutionary Socialist Party, CPI and The Forward Bloc, it is now calling upon the partners of the BJP to form a Third Front. Under the garb of calling itself ‘secular’ and ‘democratic’, the CPI (M) is trying to misguide people. It appears that the party has conveniently effaced the Kannur episode from its memory. The Kannur killings in Kerala last year are a warning for voters that they should not fall for the CPI (M)’s pseudo-secularism this time.

Third Front botched

The Third Front kicked off by CPM has botched. It is their turn now to move toward the partners of the two major alliances viz the UPA and NDA. The CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury told that his party, along with the CPI, the RSP and Forward Bloc, would call upon partners of the Congress and the BJP to join and form a third alternative. This is quite exciting particularly when CPI, RSP and Janatha Dal are on war path with CPM in Kerala for seat sharing in the coming Lok Sabha election.

The CPM would appeal to secular forces in the NDA and UPA to join with them- it is said. And that too when Madhani, the Muslim fanatic leader, sitting on the shoulders of Pinarayi, the State Secretary of CPM in Kerala. The skin depth of CPM leaders is too high when they speak of secular credentials when hard core- terrorist like Madhani is associated with them What the BJP leader Venkiah Naidu said is right. Madhani’s apt place is prison. However, CPM has decided to take him to Parliament in view of his secular fabrics.

The CPM calling themselves as “democratic and secular” is a mask to hoodwink illiterate people. . They are actually most repressive fanatics. It is often difficult for people to live peacefully under Marxist rule. The large scale killings in Kannur or elsewhere are warning of this verity.

CPM’s secular credentials.

The CPM’s secular credentials have ended in deep rift between that party and the CPI. The communal-extremist outfit PDP in Kerala is more a friend than CPI for the neo-liberalist group of CPM. With its measly communal outlook the CPM has elevated the outfit leader Madhani to the position of a State leader. Madhani, appearing in TV screens started preaching sermons of the tune that ‘then CPI will put the candidate, CPI alone will contest and CPI alone will vote’. Who is Madhani to dictate the CPI and to decide the fate of people of Ponnani?
The CPI should not allow the CPM tactics to take away the Ponnani seat from them. No communal outfit has any vote bank in any part of Kerala as they claim. All political parties should abstain from proposing candidates with a criminal record and do not seek the assistance of criminals involved in bomb-blast cases.

Outstanding performance

For Pinarayi Vijayan, the state secretary of the Kerala CPI(M), Somnath Chatterjee is the biggest betrayer of the working class. In his comment, Vijayan, who has been implicated in the SNC Lavalin graft case concerning a deal brokered when he was state power minister in 1998, extolled the leadership qualities of the Kerala chief minister, V.S. Achuthanandan. The state party secretary was responding to another comment on betrayers made by G. Sudhakaran, the minister for co-operation. All this mud-slinging is associated with problems in the Kerala unit. Leaders of the CPI(M) say that there is nobody bigger than the party. Who is this party? Does it consist of just those who attend the area committee offices of the CPI(M)?

Have a touch on poems to live on

As Pinarayi’s sycophant Minister G Sudhakaran started polluting Malayalam poetry with his despoiled lyrics Pinarayi himself started reading Urdu poems. May be an escape from reading Sudhakaran, Pinarayi quoted from Urdu poems in his Nav Kerala yathra climax at Shankumaukham. It may for the first in his life time he reads an Urdu poem with meaning that wave could have strength only when it is in the lap of the sea. “Union is strength” and other related version are to be yet read by Pinarayi. Nonetheless, now only one could understand the meaning of having Jaleel with him all the time during the yathra. And for that reason, it is time for Achuthanandan to quote from Chinese, Sonia Gandhi from Italian, Oommen Chandy from Syrian, and Remesh Chennithala from Sanskrit.

Ample reasons for Pinarayi to be thoughtful.

Kerala's CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has become philosophical at the climax of his Nav Kerala Yathra. Quoting Urdu lyrics (Does it exist?) he tried to deprecate the veteran Polit Bureau Member V S Achuthanandan and asked V S to join his group. Vijayan said individuals in the party drew their strength from the movement of which they were part of, just as a wave could have strength only when it was in the bosom of the sea. Nevertheless Vijayan overlooked the fact Achuthanandan is a more a part of sea than Vijayan. Applauds he receive in all meetings indicate what else? Not only that one could see ripple in a cup of water and that is what “Crime Editor” Nandakumar is doing against Pinarayi and his henchmen.

However, for me, it appears the reason for Pinrayi to become truth-seeking is on two counts. First one is the emotion displayed by a youth in Payyannur in hurling footwear at Vijayan. Though missed the target the incident put the party state secretary in a select league of leaders who have faced such missiles in recent times, including Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao and former US president George Bush late last year. It is quite natural that when one is elevated to such esteem abruptly he involuntarily becomes truth- seeking. The second incident is the collapse of the platform set for Pinarayi’s function at Thiruvananthapuram Though Pinarayi escaped unhurt there is ample reason for him to think philosophically

The chappal-throwing incident and stage collapse have brought more attention to the Nav Kerala Yatra and that incited Vijayan to start his quest for eternal truth . The sea and wave story at Sangumughom sea shore is the outcome this recalling incidents in the Navakerala yathra.

Two great warriors

Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said here that his fight against corruption would continue and there would be no compromise on his ideologies in this regard. This he said on the backdrop of CPM Politburo describing the CBI charge sheet against Kerala secretary of the party Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case as “politically motivated”. On the other hand Pinarayi Vijayan said the case against him in the SNC Lavalin would be fought legally and of course politically. These two great warriors while fighting each other often forget the needs of the state and their fight resembles one that was fought by K Karunakaran and his opponent A K Antony years back.

Undoubtedly the people of Kerala think that the fight continues because of the sheer incapability of the Opposition parties like the Congress, League and the Bharatiya Janata Party to take stock of the situation. The Congress anticipates an easy entry to power not because of their merit but of the follies of the CPM. Look at the face two ministers V S Achuthanandan and G Sudhakaran staged side by side for the inauguration of the Info Park at Purakkad. If face is the mirror of the mind then one could read a lot from their faces. The flatterer Minister Sudhakaran at the meeting praised VS a lot emphasizing the earlier finding of someone that this minister is nutty. The attack on Mangalam daily at Palakkad shows the intolerance of CPM cadres against reality. It is the culture this fascist party to attack physically the persons and sections that criticise the them.
